This page explains Notcuk’s session cookie and security services.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files saved to your browser by the websites you visit. These files help the site recognize you and remember your preferences.
Cookies we use
Notcuk uses an identifier cookie needed for session management. The application has no advertising or analytics cookies added. See the Privacy Policy for Cloudflare Turnstile bot protection and related data processing.

Session cookie (nd_session)
This cookie identifies your session for login, language preference, form security and access to password-protected notes. The cookie lasts 24 hours. The server expires the session after two hours without a request to the site or 24 hours after it starts. You must log in again to use account features. Logging out removes the session and cookie. Closing the browser does not necessarily delete the cookie.
- Type: Session cookie
- Purpose: User session management
- Duration: 24 hours
- Third party: No
Password-protected note access
When you unlock a password-protected note, a temporary access grant is stored in your server-side session. Your browser sends the session identifier cookie with subsequent requests. Verification is required again when the session ends or the note password changes.
How to control cookies
You can disable cookies or delete existing cookies from your browser settings. However, if you disable the session cookie, you will not be able to use features that require login (member dashboard, note editing, etc.).
Changes
This policy may be updated as the application changes. The current version is always available on this page.
