Add an access password to your note

Notcuk lets you add a separate access password to a shared note. A visitor must enter it before reading the content. Choose a password different from your account login password.

Create a protected note

Choose text or code format, enter your content and fill in the optional note password field. Your short link is generated as usual. You can use note passwords without creating an account.

Share the link and password

Send the link to the recipient and, where practical, send the password through a separate communication channel. Avoid easy-to-guess passwords and tell the recipient when the note expires.

Understand the limits

A note password is an access control and does not provide end-to-end encryption. A recipient who can read the note can copy or forward its content. Do not use the service as a password vault or to share highly sensitive data.

Retention still applies

A password does not change the retention period. Guest notes become unavailable after 48 hours. Account notes remain subject to the retention and inactive-account terms.
